What do you drink while you write?

"I very rarely drink while I write. Occasionally I take a tomato juice. I don't drink alcohol at all."

What music did you listen to when you wrote Seven Touches of Music?

"Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' and some ambient music."

What's your favorite bookstore in the region where you live?

"I described my favorite bookstore in my story 'The Bookshop' from 'Impossible Encounters'. What makes it so special? It has a soul..."

What writers do you read for pleasure?

"Milan Kundera, Umberto Eco, Jose Saramago, Kazuo Ishiguro, Tamar Yellin... "

How about your favorite movies?

"Amarcord; Amadeus; Three Colors: Blue, White, Red; everything by Bergman and Bunuel."

Do you have a favorite character, or a few favorite characters, in Seven Touches?

"I believe I have, but since I am not supposed to have favorites among my characters, this must remain a secret. A father doesn't have favorites among his children, does he? At least not officially..."

Is there a scene in Seven Touches you thought turned out particularly well or was particularly easy or difficult to write?

"I dare to hope that the scene that takes place in an Italian piazza in my story 'The Violinist' isn't that bad. And it wasn't by chance at all that it was written so easily."

What inspired you to write the book?

"The music in my head that didn't want to stop..."
